    Question about reaffirming..

We reaffirmed our mortgage and I have a question about it.

Once it's reaffirmed it will start reporting on our credit again right?

In reading many of the posts on this forum...some Mortgage companies do report and others don't.

I think I would call and ask them to report it to all 3 credit bureaus. Once we make our Sept. payment, I'm calling our mortgage co. and asking your question along with if they have a different mailing address while we are in BK. We are filing 9/30/09.

After reading your reply I called them and they said that they will start reporting it monthly but it won't start until September 1st. That's fine with me I just wanted to be sure it was going to show up.

I am thinking that the bank was OK with your reaffirming.... I also would like to reaffirm but from everything I am reading on here not many banks do that and you just have to take a ride thru...

          Good deal, Aces!

I want to reaffirm our home mortgage as we just bought it 12/20/07. Arkansas, and especially our area, was not hit that hard in the market slump of home values.

We've have 2 homes sell on our street this past month. I'm estimating about the 3rd quarter of next year, our home will have equity in it. I'm 55 yrs old and I want 'peace of mind' there is no way the mortgage company can take our home as long as we keep current on the monthly payments. I do not want to go the 'ride thru' method.

I haven't asked our Attorney yet about this. However, his contract states his fee includes 2 reaffirmations. That leads me to think Arkansas requires them.

We specified in our filing that we wanted to reaffirm and then I personally called my mortgage company and asked them to send out the reaffirmation.
Like you we wanted peace of mind.
