I saw mentioned in several posts "closing" - is this different from discharge? Our Chapt 7 filing was on 8/16 and the discharge was 11/16 - what happens now? Tax returns? Christmas Bonus? Pay raises?
You received your discharge paper in the mail? Seems to me you are DONE! Discharge is the final action in BK7. Unless the trustee or your creditors has claimed your tax returns and bonuses (you'd know because they'd tell you), you're good to go. Did the trustee even ask about your tax return? Were any of your creditors present at your 341 meeting?
Next step is to pull your credit reports (wait another 60 days) and start the cleaning up process.
Relax, you had an open/shut case. It probably closed on the 18th or 19th. Your case is over. finito and done. Lucky you. You have to look into the file online in your district to see the closing date.

Yes - we each (husband and I) received separate discharge statements. There were no creditors at our meeting, just the trustee, our lawyer and ourselves. We reaffirmed our mortgage and listed everything else. There was no mention of our 2004 tax return or my husband's christmas bonus. Would we have received something by now from the trustee? Or could it still be coming? . . . waiting for the other shoe to drop :]
No, you're really through WickyWoman. Once you're discharged they're not going to come back and say "By the way, have you received a Xmas bonus, and if so, hand it here." :o Relax! Enjoy your fresh start.
Thank you, thank you. I finally got my nerve up to call the lawyer yesterday (was afraid of his answer) - he said the same thing. Phew - I can finally breathe - it's over. Now to start working on restoring the credit scores. Thanks to all of you again.
