    Discharging back sales taxes

We owe about $40,000 in back Michigan sales taxes, interest and penalties that were collected from a sole prop businesss we had owned. We sold it recently. Can I get this 40K wiped out with bankruptcy?

Under most circumstances, tax debts cannot be discharged under a chp7. You're best bet would be to negotiate a reduced tax debt and a repayment plan.

    Good Luck!
