We were just kinda freaking out because dh started a new job on Jan 2nd, his first paycheck was the 13th. It's a lot more (20%) than his last job. The new job was an accident, we didn't really go looking for it. I was just worried they'd come back and say "Hey, WAIT, NOW you CAN pay your crazy high 30% intrest Chase card".

It's just nice to see that our tax return is going right into savings, not right into mistakes from when we were in school!

Is there are a way to get credit reports free (other than the once a year thing?) Do you sign up for the credit monitoring services? Any good ones?

not really if you already got them free. you can always call them and ask or lie to the automated voice system and take a chance.

but lots use the wal-mart link to get a reduced price for TrueCredit.com

search for wal and TC or truecredit in this forum for the link

you can pull a new credit report every 24 hours.
