    What luck?

    Aloha Everyone,

I filed Chapter 7 and got discharged 12/14/05. And I am still awaiting closing. I just pulled my credit reports just to see if they were updated because I noticed other forum peeps checking. So I pulled mine. To my surprise my bankruptcy is not listed but my credit scores were 484, 566 and 568. I filed Chapter 7 because of harassing collection agencies that were threatening garnishment and I live off every penny and have to budget every single cent. On my credit report one of the accounts that I filed Chapter 7 on is no longer listed on it and prior to bk it was there. So what happened. I always argued with them that it was a past statute claim and that it should be removed. So I should be happy its gone! Right! But at the same time I'm kind of dumbfounded.

So whats next! I pay my bills on time like a good little girl, like I plan. I have been doing go at that. I have student loans that are deferred but I am making payments still yet but don't have too. Also I have a personal loan I kept in bk because I always paid it on time.

Does anyone know how long will it take to see my score rise. Any words of inspiration would be flattering and great. I am tired, confused and just duh right now.

Well I'll chat with ya all laters.

    Mel

the bk could still show up. no idea why its not there now.

pay your bills on time, get credit slowly and each month the scores increase a bit here and there. no rush as you dont need credit if you manage yourself like we are supposed imo.

    congrats and good luck!

      Thanks for the inspiration!

It's great to have forum friendly advice to soothe a battered and defenseless mind after being mind screwed by corporate butts. But I do have to practice what I preach when I say, "Patience is a virtue." In time I should be see results of good credit practices and ontime payments.

      Thanks Bkfiler!

well actually we all lied about filing a bk. we never did. we were just taking bets to see how long before we got someone else fooled into doing so and believing us lol!

did you actually file for real?

just kidding, yes that is why this site is better then the rest so far. actual people giving their knowledge about their case to explain to others that might not understand.

Sometimes flukes happen & the BK doesn't get reported. Keep in mind that the courts don't provide info to the bureaus-the bureaus have people scouring for new records, so mistakes happen. Sounds like this would be one to your advantage.

For accounts that show you still owe them-write to the bureaus to notify them that you do not owe those accounts. Keep it simple.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

i wonder if when that happens that they will start reporting the bk then.

catch 22, what to do lol

i still think it will show up sooner or later anyways.

Most likely it will show up at some point... Ideally, if re-establishing credit is important to the OP, they can clean up their old accounts somewhat and open 1-2 decent accounts before it hits!

you know i had tons of account discharged and for well over 2 years afterwards i always paid several newer accounts on time everytime to build credit and have emergency cards. well during that time i never ever got any offers. and remeber that my negative accounts were 2 years old.

until i filed a bk and it was reported, then i got a great offer. something to think about.
