0% for six months even before discharge

I got a couple offers from Capital One and HSBC that offered 0% for 6 months and a variable 14% afterwards. I believe the annual fees were $39. Are these offers unheard of or is everyone getting them. I had a perferct credit rating for years up until marriage with wife who stays at home with 2 kids. I would like to get back in the credit game, but I'm afraid. When we know we have credit we spend it. We need to learn to live with the cash we have. Just yesterday I gave DW money to go grocery shopping. She spent every cent that I gave her and borrowed a few dollars from a friend to pay for a few extra things. I had told her to only get the most essential items as I get paid Tues. This morning she tells me that she doesnn't have any money at all, and that she owes $25 or so.

I on the other hand will only spend my last dollar if it's absolutely necessary. We just have to try harder to stay within our limits, I suppose.

Anyway, I am discharged as on Thursday. At least that's what it said on Pacer. i haven't gotten my letter yet. Then I get my natural gas bill of $505. OUCH!!!!!!!!

I got approved a few days ago w/ Cap1 for $19/yr, 0% till June, 14% after June. I'm still in my 60 day objection period, so yes anything is possible.

congrats on your discharge! whoo hoo!

it sounds like your other half doesnt get it. its time to speak seriously about spending. or you are going to end up in the same boat maybe.

as for the offers, everyone is getting decent offers as well. who knows why and why not for others. accept only the ones that are good and use them only to build credit. you shouldnt be using credit cards for anything at all anymore imo.

if you dont make it then you cant spend it. thats my motta for now on.

Congrats on the offers. And btw, I have an itching suspicion I know who your wife is, debbieszoo4? If thats her, you probably don't want to know how I feel about that woman and I would DEFINATELY NOT tell her about your new credit cards.

Let her rip. She is definitely not my wife. My wife doesn't post to this forum as her English isn't that good. She's an immigrant.

            Hello, Viper!

Could you please let me know the credit line for that "ultra rare" offer? I guess it's something like $1,000 or less, right?

            Best,

            Albert L.

DJT - you need to have a lonnnng talk with wife. OR go to the store etc. with her and don"t give her any money & whatever you do, don't give her a credit card or checkbook. Now I will try & mind my own business.
)Maybe she needs to get a job and learn the value of money)
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....
