    what is the site??

There is a thread here on the whole Chexsystems around here. Chexsystem is nearly impossible to get off of. Case in point:

    1. if you pay the debt, it stays on your file for 5 yrs as paid, then falls off.

    2. if you don't pay it, it stays on your file for 5yrs as unpaid, then falls off.

    3. if you include it in BK, it gets discharged, but STILL stays on for 5 yrs, then falls off.

It is the great Chexsystem curse. If you are in Chexsystem, the best thing is to dispute it with Chex, if they will not remove it, they find a bank that is Chex friendly!

I had a closed account, that is in Chex, it was also on my credit report. I included it in BK and was discharged. I disputed it with the agencies and it was removed. I tried to dispute it with Chex, and they won't take it off, they said I have to talk to the bank directly. I was like Yeah right? why would they WANT to remove it. It is reporting as zero balance on Chex, however, their argument is, it was at one point, a NSF account, and I have to wait 5years, it sucks! But I have a Wonderful bank now, and have been using them for over 2yrs now. I have been able to write checks at all different stores and have not once been turned down once yet...knock on wood..lol

    good luck and update us

Help me understand this.... you would be in chexsystem only if you had checks that the bank didn't cover, correct? My situation is where I had an "over the limit" loan that was discharged in BK (this was an overdraft protection account attached to my checking -- so I had no checks actually bounce).... would that put me in the chexsystem?

chexsystem is not just for writing bad checks, it is for doing anything wrong involving some type of Bank account, weather it be a deposit account or a savings account. There are different reasons for being on chexsystem. I don't know them all but the few I do is. "Bad Checks" meaning writing a bad check "NSF" meaning the account was overdrawn and you did not pay it down to a zero ballance, and the bank closed the account "fradulent" Meaning you opened the account, and in less the 1 month you where overdrawn by over $1000 and did not contact the bank. "Idenity Theft" Meaning that you stole someones idenity to open an account. There are more, but I am not sure what they are. Chexsystem is used to let people know how you handle a bank account. The chexsytem removal kit does work for some people and doesnt for others. it is not a safe way, the way it works is it gives you a couple pre-written letters to send them saying you dispute the debt. Then by law they have to reply to you within 30 days stating specific facts about the debt, and a lot of times they don't, and sometimes they do. If they do, then you can't do anything about it. If in 30 days they don't respond, then you send them another letter which is also another pre-writen letter that comes with the kit stating by law they need to take that item of chexsystem, and they will.

So sometimes it does work but others it doesnt.

        Good Luck
