Does the parameter for paying back relatives apply to debts while in bankruptcy? For example, I owe a family member some money and my case is discharged but not closed. Can I safely pay that family member without getting in trouble, and is there a limit on that amount?

I'd say once discharged, you're free to do as you please as far as paying old debts.
