Anyone filed in Connecticut? I was just wondering about the 341 meeting and how it goes here. The court is a good hour away so I can't get there very easily to visit before my date comes up! Although I have been thinking about it, just have to take a day off of work to do it.

I am in CT, had the 341 21 days ago, the meeting was easy for me, 7 no asset, I was second one called so onlly saw one other. Its pretty much run of the mill that you have been hearing about, the trustee was nice. Told me I'd be getting a discharge unless there are objections and wished me good luck.btw he about 45 minutes late, I was way early for fear of finding parking, there is no assigned parking for the courthouse so keep that in mind, I was lucky and got a spot on Main St. but don't count on it. There will also be a long line to get in so keep that imn mind also. I t seems if there are assets the case will be more closely looked at, but I think the main thing is to have all the paperwork done correctly and have what you need, SS card and DL or passport, I think they get irratated at unprepared people. Answer questions YES or NO, unless asked to explain, I was asked about 8 questions and out the door in about 7 minutes. PS have plenty of quarters on hand for the parking meters.

JUst another note, I would suggest that you do the money management course before the meeting and get it filed, one less thing to worry about, its not hard anyway, takes about 1 hr , do it online. I wish you good luck, and if anymore questions I'll try to help.

Thanks for the info. I have already done the money management thing, what a waste of time and money that was! However it is necessary to do this. Meeting with atty Monday to finalize the paperwork and I assume he will get it filed then. How did you know when your 341 was? Do they send the atty the date or do you get a notice in the mail? Is your atty allowed to speak at this meeting if you get stuck on something? I am very nervous about this meeting!! I don't like being put on the spot in front of other people! But I will do it to get this matter behind me!

A few days after filing you'll get notice of everything including 341 date, and your creditors will also get the info in a week or so, your lawyer knows everything about it so he'll inform you. Yes he will speak and represent you, especially if there are problems or things you don't know how to answer. I know its hard but don't sweat it, I did stress highly and it was all for nothing. the trustee will just ask about the info you have on your petition, very basic questions, if you have assets he'll inquire deeper. its a quick and painless affair. Just be honest, its that simple. No creditors showed up for me (I have 11 listed) and generallly they don't. After that it's just more waiting and worrying if choose so. Talk to your lawer if you have questions about the meeting, its just part of the process.. a fact findsing thing, casual. Good luck , hope this helps you.. 39days left for me.

Does the court "watch" you after this meeting. Ex: do they keep an eye on your bank account and spending? I thought I remember reading that the money you have in your account on the day you file is the only money that can be considered an asset, true? I want to be able to start saving money, but I don't want anybody eyeing it!

maybe they watch, dunno, my moneys gone before I make it anyway.
