Just converted...Few questions

I filed Chapter 13 last year before the new law took place. I lost my job in February and haven't been able to find anything that will pay what I used to make, I converted my case on Thursday, 3/16/06.

I am redeeming my car (722(b) value is 275) and reaffirming my mortgage since my attorney said that would be in my best interest. Am I on the right track?

My 341 takes place on 4/21/06 at 9:30 a.m. What can I expect from the Trustee?

Last day for filing objections to discharge is 6/20/06. If I don't have any objections to discharge, how long is it after that that I will be closed and discharged? 30 days? 45 days?

Depends if they take tax return etc..In our case, still not closed and we filed chap 7 in September 2005.

Personally, after our experience, I wouldn't reaffirm the mortgage.

Hubby lost his job. Outa work 6-7 months. When he did find a new job it was outa state. We've had to move on and the house hasn't sold yet. We kept up payments and utilities as long as we could but, we're in Breach on the brink of Foreclosure.

Just a thought for you.

If you can find employment that will continue to make the payments, that's one thing. But if you don't have any real good prospects and the market isn't looking good either, let the house go.
