Can they force you to turn over a car that you are current on and have never been late on to make you convert from a chapter 7 to chapter 13. If I got rid of my car with a payment of 575. I would qualify for a chapter 13.. But then I would have no reliable transportation to get to work.. which is 50 miles one way.

Staci had talked about situations where people filing Ch 7 traded in/gave back their car for whatever reason and bought another thru 722Redemption.
So maybe if the Court thinks your car payment is extravagant, you could do something like that. Give up the more expensive payment vehicle for another thru a Ch 7 Redemption loan company. Hopefully, the payment difference won't affect the Chapter of BK you'd have to file.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
