Hey, just wanted to share with you guys

    My success story so far!

I have started the dispute process on all three credit reposting agencies. I haven't had my 341 yet currently acheduled for the 5th of May. I'm hoping that that will help a little to once I get discharged.

    In less than a month:

    Transunion +11 pts
    Exerian +3 pts
    Equifax +28 pts

All my disputes are not even completed yet! I'm soo happy! You guys have no idea! I'm setting a very reachable goal for myself to be 600+ avg. by the end of the year. The advise I have recieved on this forum has helped me soo much, but there is still along way to go. Thanks for the help and support! I'll keep you updated on the happs!

    Wow,

I did not think to start working on my score prior to meeting. My score is horrific at the moment (low 500's). I probably should have filed 4 months ago and my score would be alot higher. I did not pay cc bills for 4 months and I think that is what really dinged it. Prior it was 700's. I really would like to get it back up ASAP mostly just for piece of mind. It really bugs me that employers base jobs on credit scores.

It's never to early! get those reports and get all that krap off your reports so your not doing all that after your meeting! I feel the more I get done now, the less to do later. Fight it to the end

        Great tip, Nascar!!

I'll remember to do the same thing right after we file and the Creditors have all had a chance to get notified.

That's was some smart thinking on your part. May get you a real jump start in your new life on the other side!!

I'm holding off until my plan is confirmed. I have credit cards showing charge off chapter 7 bankruptcy, even though I'm in a chapter 13. I figure why rock the boat just now, but then again, my circumstances are maybe different than most of you. I don't want to tee any of them off until they are past the time limit to complain.

Just a note to add to this****Our attorney told us that we were not to be paying on our cc's after consultation, prior to filing. Said it would no longer matter since we were going to file bk. Well, it does matter because the cc companies report all those non-payments prior to file date. Does anyone know if these are disputable? Thx

Just pulled my scores again today...

              Transunion +9 pts

Strating dispurtes early I think was a good thing for me to do. 600+ across the board is so close I can almost taste it....

We were told not to pay anything after our consultation either. I'm almost scared to look at my credit scores right now, but know I need to do that. I'm getting cc pre-approval offers almost daily, but of course, don't even open them. I don't want to have to use credit, but want to clean up my scores.

The first step is just to bite the bullet and look them up! I was not soo happy when I saw mine either, but it's getting better.

Its good to get the scores up, and for next ten years they will rise if you are good, but when that ten years is up and the bankruptcy gets taken off the record, your scores will drop again as you are put into a different pool, but glad you are working hard to improve, just thought I'd mention that info.

Hoe does that work? why would they go down again. If you restore your credit and keep your bills up to date? Why go down?

                        Thanks,

Well this is the way I heard it, It was Suzie Ormans show, and the caller was wondering about a loan she wanted to try for , her question was should she wait for her bankruptcy to come off her report, at this time her FICO is 720, with BR, or do it now, The answer from Suzie was that at this time you are put into a pool with other BR filers, thus determining your FICO score with them, once the bankruptcy gets taken off you record , you are put in the pool with everyone else, those that never filed and thus your score will go down, because you once did file, BR is forever at some levels , by the way her answer was to take the loan BEFORE the BR gets removed. Thats just what I heard her say.

Fist of all, I have an account with Transunion it's $14.95 a month, but you can update your credit report and score everyday if you would like to. I don't recommend this for everyone, but if you want to keep updated on your report. it's the way to go.Once all your disputes are completed, you should cancelthe service since it will noit be of to much use after that.

Pull all three copies of your credit report. Review them very carfully. If you see any items that are:
1-Paid off still shouwing a balance
2-Items that on are your report twice.
3-Items that are clearly from the same account that are shoeing a different balance among the three agencies.

Dispute anything that fits into the catagoeies
The best way is to do the disputes throught tha mail, Transunion and Experian can be disputed on line. You can however dispute with Equifax on line with this link:
                            https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/co...online_dispute
scrool down to the "online section, and enter you zipcode. on the next page right under where it says "Welcome to Equifax Online Dispute" click on the "If you do not have a confirmation number, click here to start your investigation"

Keep track of all the disputes you file
Mark them as completed when you recieve the updated copy of your credit report in the mail with corrections.
If the item on your report cannot be corrected for any reason, just go back and review it again. If you still believe that it is wrong you next step is the collection agency that repoted it on you report. If that doesn't work, you need to go back to the original creditor.

I hope this helps this is exectly what I do. If anyone has any other questions let me know. I'm more then willing to share whatever I know...

I saw where she (susie orman) had said that but that doesn't make any sense to me. First of all if you didn't file then you would already be in a pool with "everyone else" so by what she said you would be better off filing now so you get a bump in your credit scores that lasts for 10 years.

I usually like Susie but she has said several things about BK are not accurate. Such as she has said that most people who file BK end up filing again, which is not correct.
