    Question about late payments....

Ok, heres on for all the gurus.... I know that once a utility payment goes past due it is reported as such on my credit report. What about all the payments that are on time? Is that utility company listed as "good" when you never miss a payment? I ask this because 2 years ago I went all woreless for phone service. I I was to resytablish service with my local phone company, and make all my payments on time. Will that increase me credit score?
    My credit scores:
Before Filing: Tr 496, Ex 496, Eq 507

    Today: Tr 618 (+122), Ex 601 (+105), Eq 623 (+116)

Utilities must be a secret sort of reporting.

We ordered, and printed, copies of our CR's per attnys' suggestions. You know I never saw once on any of them, anything about telephone, electric, water, nothing.

There were all the CC's, home loans, car loans, etc., but no utilities. No water, electric, cell phone, land line, cable, internet, nothing like that.

Yet, it's well known here, if you BK on a utility you need to expect a stiff deposit. So how do they know you BK'd on a utility??!! It's gotta be reported somewhere.

        Interesting!

I went thru ours a couple different times and didn't see any utilities.

I would say I'd pull em out and check again, except the attny has our copies.

I'll be sure and look for that stuff when we get our docs back.

I know we had to pay a deposit to get phone service once years ago. It was the oddest thing that happened that caused it too. We sold our house to a young, single guy. (The kid purchased our house from us with cash from his Trust left to him by his Gma!) He'd called the phone company about getting service. He'd have to pay some huge fee to get phone service since he had little established credit. But if we would simply let him take over our phone number, then it would only cost him $15. He asked if we would mind to do that. Sounded easy enough. Being nice people we went along. Not costing us anything, right??!!

WRONG!! When we went to set up phone service after we'd moved, the phone company couldn't find any record of our previous service. I was like, "What??!! We had phone service there for a couple years." But our records showed this huge gap in time from when we'd last had service to when we were trying to get new service. When we gave that kid our phone number for the $15 fee to help him out, the phone company wiped all record of us as customers from their files. It was like we'd never even had phone service the whole time we lived there. So we had to up with a deposit.
