Wildcard Exemptions can be used to exempt property that is not covered by other exemptions, in most cases.

Most personal items like furniture, tv's etc fall under the personal exemptions..... usually wild cards can be used for anything usually.

If you are considering filing, have a consultation with at least 3 attorneys and listen to their options you can do.......

Sounds like your a Chapter 7 NO ASSETS..... especially if you own no home/property etc.....

Pesonal belongs is just that - personal belongs....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

        Just an example,............

Say you have a car worth $5500. That's either paid in full, or equity above an existing note. Your State's Vehicle exemption limit is $5000. But your State also gives you a $500 WildCard exemption to use any way you choose. You could apply the WC to car to protect the excess, unprotected equity.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
