I am helping my mom file for BK and I have a couple of ?
The first is she works but gets paid chase once in a while she makes about 1200.00/month babysitting for me and other people as well as cleaning homes for some elderly people. She files a joint income tax with my dad but they have a seperate checking accounts and each pays for half of everything including rent. Recenlty we found out that my brother has charged up stuff on quite a few credit cards that are now over 2 years deliquent plus she co-signed on a car for him about 3 years ago that got repo. If we file for BK what type of expeses can she claim meaning like rent etc? Also do I need to get a copy of her bank statements to look it over and how far back do I need to go? She also was making car payments on a car that my dad got her for about 5 years ago the car is payed off as of January 2006 what happens with that.
