Typical BK lawyer cost??

Im think of filing chp 7 and have already received great advice from people on here. I just was wondering what it typically cost to hire a lawyer to represent me in a bk case?? Are we talking thousands of dollars??

Most states for a basic BK the cost is between $800-$1200

I found my attorney at legalhelpers.com.
I called about 10 different attorneys in my area to get an estimate on how much it would cost - the cheapest I found was $500 plus the $209 for court costs. The attorney I have now originally charged $700 plus $209 court costs but I asked him if he would match the $500 and he did. I paid $200 down and will pay $259 and $250 over the next two months. The only negative thing to making payments to the attorney is that he/she won't actually file the paperwork to the courts until he receives all the $. But it's definitely worth it - doing it on your own is just way too much work.
