    Chapter 7 and my pets?

I am currently in the process of filing Chapter 7 and my lawyer just contacted me and asked me about the value of my dogs ... what does this mean? I have two pugs and a dachshund ... will I have to give them up? I don't know if I could do that? Does anybody have any answers to this? Thanks.

You won't have to give them up, but they are an asset and there is acutally a line item on your schedule of assets for animals. (this is more of a leftover from early 20th century when most persons had small farms)

Had the Trustee come for our beloved Princess he'd never have been able to take the gun! Family is family even with four legs! Obviously livestock is a different situation.

I asked my lawyer about that too!! He said it was mainly for people who bred dogs.
The dogs would be worth more than a family pet. Plus you would be getting income from your dogs.

Sounds like some laws on the books are about "Kicking the dog"
BK is back enough. Nobody sould even have to think about the loss of a family pet too. Some lawyers are more concerned about the next case then the feeling involed and how to help their clients get to the end.
          Good Luck
