Are you using an attorney or filing pro se???

If using an attorney, they will have a packet that you fill out that will tell you everything you need.

Do you have assets - home, etc??

    Need more info,

Wouldn't hurt to sit down on a free consultation with an attorney and see what your options are... don't tell him your filling pro se.... just see what he suggests in your case.

No assets, sounds like a simple Chapter 7 unless you have a high income and are over the means test..... which could put you in a Chapter 13....

Consult with 2 attorneys (free) and let us know what they say.......

        They want to see:

wage statements, bank statements, cc statements, income tax forms for last 3 years, copies of last 3 months untilities, student loans, rent receipts, etc.

You will have to supply a complete list of all your income and expenses, minus the cc expenses and any debts that you are discharging that you have been paying.

        KEEP US POSTED...

Attnys want income tax returns for the last 4 years, Minny, under New Law.

In addition to everthing Minny said, our attny wanted our Mortgage, our Lease on the house we rent, information on our Renter's Insurance and Auto Insurance policies, Life Insurance policy, any Retirements you may have, 401K if you still have any, Retirement IRA if you have those. Bank statements on any accts you've closed within the last year. Paperwork on any property you've sold or transferred in the last year. There may have been more, but I can't think of it now.

The paralegal said she'd scan all those docs into their system and give us back our originals. She said they needed to keep all that stuff on file in case the attny get's audited.

She also took all letters of correspondence from Creditors that we've been receiving as well. So hang on to those too.
          Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
          Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
          Closed - 04/2007

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
