Few questions about my credit report...

Ok, I have ordered a credit report as I am hoping to have my discharge taken care of very soon.

A couple of things immediately came to my attention.

First of all the car loan that I previously had is no where to be found. Neither is a credit card that I had through that credit union. Any idea of where these might be, and if they will show up later?

Secondly, most of my creditors, with the exception of one, have already given me a balance of 0 for my debt. What do I do with the one that hasn't.

Third. Between June and December a credit card company looked at my credit report at least 3 times. I have not applied for credit, nor have I enquired about credit cards, and on top of that I have a fraud alert on my credit report to keep people from doing that. Any advice on what I should do with that? This is really annoying to me.

And finally, before I ever even filed bankruptcy,I had called to close all of my credit cards, and lines of credit SEVERAL months beforehand. Only two of my creditors are reporting this. The other ones are claiming that the debt was closed because of the Bankruptcy. What should I do with that? I rightfully feel that it should state that the consumer closed them, not just dismissed. Any advice?

I believe there is a difference between inquiries by companies you owe and companies who are checking your credit in order to possibly offer you credit. The first impacts your credit and the second does not.

If you had a collection and they were a collection company, then they have a right as stated in your credit applications to periodically pull your credit to monitor your activity.

At one point when my cards were 90% maxed, Citibank raised my interest to 26% because I was now a high risk account even though all of my payments had been on time. Of course as they later pointed out, this was also stated under the terms which I glossed over before signing!

None of the inquries were from companies that I owe money to. They were from different credit card companies, that I have never applied to or had any contact with at all.

No collections either.... just a lot of late payments.

No creditors have access to your direct credit report, but companies have the ability to check your length of credit, bk or no bk, and other public information without receiving an application. These don't affect your credit score and give them information so that they can determine whether you meet there "pre approval" status.

My understanding though, that since there is a fraud alert on my credit reports, that they are not allowed to do this during the time of the alert.
