    Lawyer said no Chap 7

The problem is my girlfriend and I purchased a house less than two years ago, I'm not listed on the mortgage but I am listed on the deed to the property. Since I'm not on the mortgage, that amount is not considered a debt. Can I become the renter and still be on the deed? What does the court look at for a renter, signed lease?
Or any other solutions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

If your on the deed, that means you have a property interest in the real estate, so if you file BK, you have to list it as an asset. I am not sure how you can effectuate a lease to yourself on property you own.

What is the exact type of property interest do you and your girlfriend have. Joint, Tenants in common, etc. etc.

your best bet would be to quitclaim yourself from the deed as soon as you can. Otherwise if your on title you are still responsible for the debt. If you need further information or details re: quitclaim deed contact me.
