I started paying my atterney for my ch 7 bankruptcy in about May. In July, I had to go into the payday advance things to keep from having some checks bounced. I have been paying and re-writing these ever since and having to get more to keep from being overdrawn in my account. My bankruptcy was filed in Oct. I received my discharge papers yesterday. If these payday advances were not included in the bankruptcy and I default on them, what will happen? I am in the process of trying to close that checking account so that I don't have anything bounce and so I can have money to spend on gas to get to and from work and food. Any idea what will happen to me once that account gets closed? (I'm in Ca if that helps.)

Darn, you should have included the cash advance place in your BK! Then you could have walked clear of that debt. I'm not sure about California law. I know in some states they wouldn't be able to collect from you even if you failed to list them as a creditor. Other states, if you didn't list them, you're out of luck and they can make collection efforts after your BK. It has been my experience that all they do if you close the checking account is harass you for a while and then eventually sell it to a collection bureau. But I am in Tennessee and I realize it may not go the same for you there.
Hopefully someone else will come along who knows more than me! Good luck
