    Guns

I own a Desert Eagle 50ae and I was wondering if that could be considered under my exemptions as long as it dosn't go over the amount allowed by law? Is it considered personal property? The only reason I wondered is because guns are required to be registered and I don't want some crazy nut job getting ahold of it and killing someone then have the cops coming back looking for me. I know silly thing to worry about but thats all I really do any more.
Washington state allows the following exemptions so I hope it fits in one of them
    $1000 Clothes
    $1500 Jewelry/Furs
    $1500 Family Pics/Keepsakes
    $2700 Household goods/appliances
    $2000 Other personal property
Maybe it fits in the Apliances category! Just kidding!
    Apreciate any thoughts

guns will be listed under personal property, just remember when you give value of the item the value you give should be a garage sale value not retail or wholsale

Are there any specific formulas to devalue your property for these exemptions? I keep hearing "garage sale" value, but that doesn't bode well with me...I'll have a hard time setting the garage sale value...I'm more likely to over value something since I know how much I paid for it! I've also heard 10% of the original value. Anyone have a standard way to calculate the cost of items, especially bigger ticket items like $1000 tools?

        Lotsofquestions

My lawyer said the court will look at the value as a distressed sale. This would be how much could the court get if they sold it fast. When it came to my property i did rought guess and when it came to a few elec. stuff (Printers etc.) my lawyer said you paid over $5000.00 for the stuff but it can't be worth more then $400.00 today. I was also under the limit and over valued some of my stuff because i had room to. If you are still having trouble and want to do alot more work them you need you could try e-bay to find a good idea of the value. This would still be high in my opinion. Good luck I go to the 341 meeting this week.

Nice piece, great watermelon destroyer!!! If I was a Trustee I'd think twice about claiming your property! (just kidding)

Every upstanding law abiding citizen should have one. Tyrants would think twice. Like they say, Teddy Kennedy's Car has killed more people than my gun!
