Filed a bankrutpcy petition pro-se in October 0f 2005.
The bankrutpcy case was discharged in February 2006 and closed in April.
Just received a letter from the irs demanding payment of taxes from the 1999-2000 timeframe for about $5000.00. Just amazing that all we go through just to simply survive the bankruptcy and start to get our lives back together and this insanity starts up again.
What is really nuts is that the irs bankruptcy unit told me a week ago that the taxes would be discharged and now they say nope they made a mistake, that I didn`t pass the 240 day rule.
Guess I will just go into slavery and pay them 150.00 till I die and just let it go. A part of me wants to haul their worthless ass back into bankruptcy court and re-open the whole mess and see if the bankruptcy judge may see it my way.
What a world. Knew a guy a few years ago who had a failed business and through the shennagians of an ex-wife and accountant had an irs debt of about 250,000. Well after the bankrutpcy was discharged they simply took everything, destroyed him and the last I heard he was working a 7-11 in Texas under an assumed name and ss.
You know at the end of the day this is all about a fresh start. If the court says yep you played fair and well stuff happens IRS debt should be discharged. After all unlike the government we just can`t print money if we run short.
Sick, Sick world.
Thanks for listening.
