    Trustee Question

Chapter 7 has been discharged, supplied trustee information concerning assets in the case and he ask for an offer to close the case. It has been four weeks since documentation and $$$$ offer was made to the trustee.

I'm ready for this thing to close, attorney says to not contact the trustee because the more time that goes by the better chance we have of him accepting the offer...............anyone think this is true or is contacting the trustee to see what the status is the best choice.

    Beware.......................

My attorney kept me on HOLD with the Trustee in trying to buy my home back and it was sold at auction...........

Trustee said blame it on your attorney for not negotiating..............

Call you attorney, tell him you need answers, pressure till you get some.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Another avenue to pursue is to call the Clerk of the Court and ask them what's going on. That's not calling the Trustee as your attny said not to do, but it's rattling the Trustee's cage by having the Clerk of the Court ask him/her for you.
      Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
      Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
      Closed - 04/2007

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

WHAT????? This sounds fishy? Did you have more assets than were exempted and they want you to turn stuff in? Excess cash?

I had some land ($2,350 value) in the middle of nowhere plus some preferential payments according to the trustee. The preferential payments were on my wifes credit card (im an authorized user) and a $4,000 dollar payment paid to her startup business that she and another lady own. The trustee is trying to get some of that from what I can see............during our meeting he said make an offer which could be discounted from the grand total so we did and here we still sit four weeks later
