    Discharge Taking Too Long

I keep checking Pacer and I guess I'm just confused. I filed Ch. 7 on 2/15/06, had my 341 meeting on 3/23/06. Deadline for objections was on 5/22/06.

I check everyday and it just states: "Meeting of creditors held and concluded with no asset report."

"Pending Status: Awaiting 341 Meeting ,Awaiting Closing"

I thought it should have been discharged by now. Is it normal for this to happen? I'm from Los Angeles, a big city, .... I don't know, should I be worried?

Did you file pro se or use an attorney......
If you used an attorney, have him find out why its alls till open......

If not, check with the local bankruptcy clerk of courts and ask why nothing is posted........

They can let you know something.....

Yes you should have been discharged by now and your case closed.....

Imagine it is just slow paperwork, or the posting hasn't been done yet...

Lots of Trustee's are very slow in doing their paperwork and getting it turned in but that's no excuse....

Let us know what you find out....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Call the clerk's office. I ended up doing that when my case was taking so long to close and found out that they were still "waiting" for my last installment of filing fees that I had actually paid in February. They dug, found the record of my payment, updated my record, and then finally I was told that my discharge would go through. It did.

Have you done your second class and provided them with the paperwork?

Or, are they possibly waiting for a tax refund to come in?

It says that you're still awaiting 341? sounds like someone may have forgotten to file some paperwork at the clerks office? Give them a call and often they will clear it up right away.
