    challenging my debt

    Hi,
My debt is around $300K. $150K of it is to one credit card company. It is mainly a business debt and I haven't used their CC for the past 3-months. I have 2-questions:

    - If I file Chapter7, do you think they will try to challenge as my debt is about $150K? What can they do?

    - Can they do their own investigation on their own, such as talking with my business customers, my neighbours, my friends, etc?

    - If one credit card company challenges and wins, does the whole bankrupcy case not discharged or is it just that credit card company's charges being not discharged?

    Thanks

    Ed

You need to talk to several lawyers. It all depends. If the last charges are over 6 months old, that is usually ok... but the trustee may still ask where the money went.

Creditors conduct asset searches. There are a lot of databanks available.
For $150K, I don't think there is any question that they'll ask some questions.
You really need to lay out the entire picture to an attorney.
A high dollar bk will get attention from both creditors and the trustee.

I'd think for $150K they are going to want some stuff to auction off.
