    Returning home to declare BKK

What if you are basically broke and living in foreign country, have a wife whose been a major cash drain because of her mistakes and her family, a child with her along with a child with another lady (legally) who is not your wife and that has been a major cash drain also.

Can you return to the US and file BKK? What if you have some foriegn assets but they concealed through a shell corporation and you can't touch, or move them anyway due to the host countries laws. What if the foriegn country is not very transparent anyway about revealing financial information to foriegn interests in the first place?

The debts start at being over one year old and extend older from there.

I have substantial student loans and couple of degrees in process, can I finish my degrees under the loan program if I declare or am I derailing the entire process?

I'm wanting to return to the US and try to get a fresh start. I would have no job lined up in the US but have some qualifications that would likely get me employed somehow even if only PT.

BOA, you have some very complex issues here even if you were residing in the States now. You are going to need an experienced specialty U.S. bk lawyer to give you sound advice. Check online at www.lawyers.com for bk lawyers in your home state, then arrange for a few free half-hour to hour-long phone calls with them (although you are likely to have to pay the cost of the call yourself if you are calling from outside the country). Check the 'stickies' here in the forums and on lawyers.com about how to find a good bk lawyer. Good luck!

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
