do I list childrens savings bonds?

Hi! I am pretty much ready to print out my papers, sign and deliver. I thought of something last night and was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this; My children all have savings bonds from their grandparents totalling $6,700. They have not reached their maturity date yet. On the savings bonds is our childrens name and then on the bottom some of them say "or Our Name" and some say "POD Our Name". Is this something I would need to list since our names are on the bonds as well? I obviously would exempt them but that would take a big chunk out of our exemptions. Are these considered an asset? I would let them take anything and everything but these as these are gifts for my children from their grandparents.

Thanks if anyone knows the answer to this.

Honestly, I have a payroll deduction for my savings bonds ($25/ pay for $100 bonds) and when I filed I forgot to list them as assets. It never came up. Which is weird because it's right on my pay stub that it comes out. I'm sure that it will not be a problem. You can always call you lawyer or the clerks office to see, but I didn't have a problem and the bonds are in my name. I could be because they are considered retirement savings. Maybe on par with 401k. Esp since they [newly issued bonds] cannot be cahed in right way anyways.
    My credit scores:
Before Filing: Tr 496, Ex 496, Eq 507

    Today: Tr 618 (+122), Ex 601 (+105), Eq 623 (+116)

I decided to list them. I listed them in the declaration of financial affairs. I would rather list them and have the trustee say that it wasn't needed then to think we were trying to hide something and get dismissed. If they make me use them in the exemptions then I will let them clear out our TV's/DVD players and furniture before I let them touch them.

If you're using Federal Exemptions, then you would have to claim them. Federal includes everything. Even toys, clothes, and such that belong to your children.

If you're using State Exemptions, then your children's things could be off limits. At least that's the way it is here. State, you just inventory the "Common Use Areas" of the Household. Children's property is just that. The childrens'.
