    Temporary Job

My attorney filed my bankruptcy papers on July 31. I am self employed but have had no income in the last 6 months so obviously am below the median income in the last 6 months. This entire bankruptcy has been the result of a nasty legal case which resulted in a judgment against me. Parties relating to this case are the only creditors and there are no credit card creditors. As a result of harassment from the primary creditor I have been spending as much time as possible out of the country. This of course has further hindered my ability to work. I have some limited opportunity to work in a temporary or part time job while overseas and have been able to earn a small amount (approx. $1,500.00) since filing. Does anyone have any thoughts regarding this with regard to the impact on my bankruptcy?

If your trustee asks you during your 341 if you had have any changes in income since you filed (ours did), you should disclose the $1500. Don't want to be lying to the trustee - very serious consequences including discharge of your case if you do and get caught. The risk is that if he/she finds out you are working now, the new bk cases being decided in the courts the last few months are starting to look forward for income, not just back six months. Keep us posted on what happens as your case progresses, ok?

I don't think I can handle all the stress of worrying whether this will have a negative impact on my case and my capacity to work is seriously limited now by all this stress. I think I will tell the company I did this work for that I can't continue.

Confused, we can't guess what your employer will feel about you in the future if you resign now - only your employer can tell you that. If I were you, I wouldn't make a hasty decision - take a few days and think about all the potential consequences first before deciding what the best thing to do in your situation is.
