Filed ch7 petition monday, phone has stopped ringing, but still getting a letter from finance company. Shouldn't that have stopped as well.

Many of the bigger Creditors,............. Chase, Citi, BoA, etc,............ Get notified electronically thru the Court's filing system. So they cease contact attempts almost immediately.
All of your Creditors, including those notified electronically, are notified via mail. You'll get the same letter in the mail sometime early next week that your Creditors are gonna get. And you'll all get that same letter about the same time.
Even tho you filed this past Monday, some of your Creditors don't yet "officially" know. So you may continue to get a few letters that might be mailed before the Creditor receives their notice in the mail.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
