Collecter left a message AFTER I filed

I got an interesting voice message on my answering machine yesterday from Interstate Alliance calling about a debt and asking me to call them back. That ain't happening.

I filed C7 on 5/15/07. They are in violation as I understand it of the automatic stay...

I advised my attorney, and attorney wants the number for this company which I provided.

Anybody had any dealings, or experiences with this collection agency?

Just curious.

never had any dealings with them.....but did you include the collection agency in your filing. They are only in violation if they knew and were notified of the stay. Chances are, after your attorney gives them a call and ur case # its the last you will hear from them.

Thanks Wayne-o. I included the original creditor, so I was under the impression that the creditors and their collection companies would be notified.

the original creditor would probably forward it to the collection agency....or maybe not....but dont be afraid to answer the phone anymore...give them ur case # and lawyers name and # and you shouldnt hear from them again. Once I filed and did this, did not have any problems, and most of the people were much nicer about this than when they were trying to collect. Good luck with ur case

btw cute dog..... i have a pug also

Pugs are the best dogs and my betterhalf and I have 6 between us (well ..other than the 4 german shepherds we have!....closely tied) We rescue them when they are old or just unwanted out of the pound. Bogey the pug I bought was the execption.

I'm having a bad day...bad week ...all I have to do is go out to the "pug room" and sit down...they are all over me kissing my face and doing the pug snort. Just happy to see me, and I ask myself "how can any one have a bad day when they come home to this much affection?"

I didn't have a problem with that particular agency ... but National City Mortgage was a *bear* to deal with. We paid each and every mortgage payment on time right up until the moment we filed Chapter 13 ... and at that point our attorney told us to stop because the trustee would take over.

Well, it took a couple weeks for the trustee to start making payments ... I was getting calls at home ... at work ... two or three a day. I told them, "You KNOW this is in a bankruptcy case ..." and they said it didn't matter that I STILL owed them. They even mailed me STACKS of brochures about, "What happens when your house is foreclosed."

I finally called my attorney in tears and he wrote them the harshest letter I've ever seen. That put an end to it ... no more harrassment.
