I was recently approved to receive Social Security after being disabled for the last seven months. All I was receiving was my state's disability benefits - and a small pension.
I know that creditors and their goon collection associates can not go after Social Security benefits to collect on past due bills, but can they go after the lump sum retroactive payment - probably around $8000.00?
