    Card Services

I got a call today and the rep said he was from Card Services. So, I asked for the address and phone number. He gave me a Delaware address. I then asked where he was and he said Texas. So, I asked for his company name. I said I was concerned with identity theft. He gave a different company name. I really think he let this slip out accidentally. So, I asked if he lied to me originally about who he was with, and the phone got quiet. FYI for those who get a call saying they're from Card Services. Ask for addrsses, company name, and rep name. If they give you a different address from Card Services in Delaware ask for his address and company name. It appears some collection agencies are calling and using Card Services as their company name. I don't recall the name of the company he said but it began with a P and was in texas. So much for protecting identities huh.

Funny, I received a phone call from Card Services as well. The man did not ask for my name or anything, simply launched into "I'm so and so from Card Services and I would like to verify your credit card information." I asked WHO was Card Services, WHERE was he calling from, WHO was he wanting to talk to, and WHICH credit card he was calling about. He hung up. I *69'd the call, but was told the call was either out of the area or marked private.

As far as I know, you have no obligation to speak with parties outside of the original creditor. I received a few calls a while back from "card services." Even though they appeared to be representing credit card company that I have a debt with, I still refused to speak with them. I was particularly bothered by the fact that they wanted me to verify my phone, address, last four of SSN, etc. I simply stated that I do not share any personal information over the phone. SEND ME A LETTER. Then they state they needed to verify my address in order to send a letter. I repeated I don't share information with someone I don't know and hung up. Sometimes I think these folks might be "work from home" contractors.

I also wonder if some banks, credit unions, cc companies have violated my privacy rights.

There's no reason for Card Services to be contacting me. I am more than current on my credit cards. They have been pesky in the past trying to convince me to purchase their additional services (credit protection, etc). I still want to know WHAT card they are calling for!

I got one of these the other day.
It was a legitimate call from my bank calling to find out if I had made multiple online purchases that day!
BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!
