I'm the victim of inaccurate Credit Bureau reporting (In a funny way!)

So today I get a call at work from the collections department of one of the banks that holds two cards I haven't been able to pay.

I told them to make note on my account that they're not allowed to call me at work any more and the Customer Service Representative agreed. While I had her on the phone I figured it was a good time to talk to her and see what was bothering them.

She wasn't very moved by my explanation of the unexpected medical expenses I have incurred and they asked if I had been paying my other creditors. I explained that the payments I make are prioritized and the health and well-being of my family is served first and unsecured debts aren't the highest priority. I told her there were other creditors going unpaid too.

The CSR made it clear that she thought I was being dishonest and I asked her why she thought so. She demanded to know why I was not paying them anything while I was still current with my other creditors. She was sure this was an indication of fraudulent activity because I'd be reported late on everything if my story was true.

I asked her what the source of her information was because it was surely incorrect. She explained that they had pulled a credit report and only this bank and one other was being reported as delinquent and all of the others were still in good standing.

(There's about a dozen accounts that I've stopped paying on and only a couple of them had stopped being paid recently. The only exception is the card from my Credit Union where they have my credit cross-collateralized with a vehicle loan. On this one account I've continued to pay the minimum payment.)

Well, the CSR insisted that I was being dishonest and I advised her that her information was incorrect -- she didn't believe me. She pointed out that she needs to make a decision regarding the disposition of my account and made sure I understood that the information on my credit report would be weighed heavily in their decision.

So, it seems to me that I'm going to be a victim of the inaccurate information in my credit report!

Discharged November 2008 100 days after filing no-asset Chapter 7. We intended to let a two-year-old vehicle go back to the bank and reaffirm an inexpensive ten-year-old SUV and our home mortgage. In the end we surrendered ALL of our vehicles and reaffirmed NOTHING. We'll "ride through" our mortgage after the court ruled it an undue hardship.

The CRA's aren't the most accurate source of information.

We were well into 2-3 months late before anyone started showing us not making payments on our Credit Reports.

After we file BK and dispute items,........... Citi withdrew all the Lates. Show our acct as Closed, Paid in Full, the same month as the last month we paid.

Other accts are showing Charged off when they should say IIB.

Credit Reports definitely are the paragon of accuracy!! NOT!!

And of all the people who should know this??? You'd think that CSR would for sure!!

    Funny story.

This is just a CSR that doesn't understand what and when things are reported. I have 9 accounts that are past 60 days and only 2 are showing lates as of yesterday. You're not the victim of inaccurate credit bureau reporting. You're the victim of an inaccurate perception by a CSR. The credit bureau's are only going to be as accurate as the reporting from the creditors. The CSR's information was more than likely accurate. Your credit report may show exactly what she said it shows. However, her "interpretation" or assumption of reality, was what was inaccurate.

I've been using a Credit Monitoring Service and I just got alerted to an inquiry from ##### which is an arm of #####. They did pull from TransUnion and my TransUnion report is the one with the fewest delinquent accounts reported.

I'll need to pull my full report because it looks like a hard pull which makes it seem like I was applying for credit -- and I wasn't.
