The very last debt I have outstanding from a charged off credit card is at about 4300 from 2004. They sent me a settlement offer for 3000, I ignored it. I had set up monthly payments from my bank account with them two years but I kept falling off their system without any explanation and the monthly payments would not debit out. I have had no contact with them except the settlement offer of 3000 back in May. My mother called the other day and told me this person called for me he left no company just his name and number I looked up and it was this same collection agency, her number is unlisted as is mine. I want to get rid of this debt and I could come up with 2000 to do it. How should I negotiate a better settlement. I really do not want this to go to court but I think they may be just about to hit me with a lawsuit. Do I offer 1000 to start? I am sure I should do it in writing. I have heard many complaints about this collection agency lying and refusing to give settlement offers in writing that are negotiated on the phone. As always thanks for anyone who take the time to read this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Very good site to visit. One point I picked up was "In some cases, making an actual payment or making a verbal or written promise to pay can reset or restart the limitations depending on your state code."Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17
