So universal default kicked in with my Home Depot card :(

I have two citicards and one a home depot card (which is financed by citicards).

The home depot card had a deferred payment plan so I didn't have to pay ANYTHING until january of 2009! Well, guess what, now that I'm late on my other cards, I've begun getting collection calls from home depot WITHOUT them even sending me a notice I have to now make payments!

I called the 1-800 nubmer to see why I've been getting calls and it says I owed them $50 as of YESTERDAY. Funny thing is I started getting collection calls before I was even late for this newly instated min. payment due.

Grrrr. . . the calls are annoying too as they ALWAYS leave a voice mail but never say anything other than a whisper of voices in the background.

What's even worse is when they speak hardly to no english. If you have retained a lawyer, give them your lawyer's information and tell them you filed BK. If they ask you if you paid your lawyer, tell them "according to my lawyer, that information is confidenal. You will have to ask him or her."
    01/17/2009 Filed
    03/03/2009 341 Meeting
    04/14/2009 Confirmation Hearing

Yes, the parent company that owns the card(s) you are late on notified the HD card people. That's why you are getting the notices and calls.

*If* you're interested in C&Ding them, they *do* respect a C&D. I know by law they all are supposed to, but in my experience, some do, some don't.

I found CitiBank/Home Depot to be one of the more prolific callers, to the tune of 20+ a day (and the calls started 2 days after I missed my first payment!)
