Well now that we've retained an atty, we're answering the phone again. Never answered since we stopped paying in Nov. Spoke with Home Depot and GE Money yesterday. I surprised at how pleasant that actually were! Didn't try to persuade me to settle, weren't rude. Nothing! The girl from HD actually asked if there was anything else she could do for me. I said no. Then she replied with 'Well thank you for shopping at home depot'.....LOL...

I simply treat the collection agents with respect and tell them with a calm voice that we are filing a BK, here is the attorney's info, and if they need anything they can call him, or if they really need to, they can call me. No calls since then.
However, these are all original creditors, not third party scum.
Soon, though, I will probably need to deal with them, and if they are not nice, I will just change the phone number.Comment

yes, once you can start answering the phone again, it kind of made me feel like a person again.
One polite credit card collector took the BK case number and my lawyer's name. He ended the call with a "good luck ma'am" and was very friendly.Much thanks for all the support and information I receive on this forum.
