    NCO is absolutely NUTS!

NCO aka NCO Financial Systems, Inc

I have 3 accounts with NCO from Citibank.

When I told them I am declaring bankruptcy, they gave me one address to mail my stuff to and then the guy called me back and said that they have another mail address and that the woman before didnt know I wanted to declare and hence didnt give me a right address.

Whats the deal with that? Arent they supposed to give me the right address?
I have one of their mail envelopes..shoudl I just use the one I have in my documents or trust they are giving me the right one.

    Thanks

I would think that as long as a suggestion of bankruptcy gets to one address for the company, you will be fine. Even if they were to try to collect from you 5 months after your discharge, it wouldn't matter as long as they were listed in your BK petition. All you would have to do would be to send them a copy of your discharge papers. As long as creditors are listed in your BK petition, I don't think it matters if they received the original suggestion of bankruptcy. If they are on the petition, and they try to collect after the fact, you can still send them proof that they were listed.

    Is this correct, HHM?

I've heard and listened to many people who say "DO NOT CALL THEM, LET THEM CALL YOU"

Knowing that, I haven't called any (Except one to stop contracted withdrawls) and I'll let THEM call me...Let them do the running around, they get paid for it.

Did you see my complaint about this company?

NCO has been verbally harassing not only me but my FIL as well and he has nothing to do with my debt. I have no idea how they even got his number!

NCO-is the worst, if i dont get to pay my collection by friday i'm filing a complaint with the BBB.

Bunch of idiots working there-I'm fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
          here is my story,

On Dec 01, I filed BK, I forgot to include a commonwealth edison acount in it ($96) which is not a big deal, since I have been trying to clear up my credit. on Feb 16, 2005 I called, they said it was included in my BK, I dont know how they got that info, after going through my bk docs i found nothing about them being included, so as per their request I have faex over a letter saying that to my knowledge this particular acount was not included and I would like to pay for it asap. well, i got nowhere with that.
just last week Oct 6th, 2005 I started to follow up with them again, the new rep, said it's noted in the computer, but was faxed to the wrong dept. back in feb, and need it to be faxed to their office, I did, she said I will gte a call from her on friday Oct 7th so that she can take the payment. Fri- no call, so by 3 pm, I give them a ring,a nd she says her manager is not in the office so nothing has ben done, maybe on monday. today is tuesday, so I give her a ring again, she said it has not been done, her manager is not in and said she has told me it takes 5 business days to process a fax?!!!! and literally slammed the phone on me.

i have to say, it is very annoying when you try to fix all of the mistakes you've made in the past, and they are not helping at all. arent they supposed to be wanting the payment. and since, it was included in bk why is it still showing up as unpaid? if it is not resolved by Fri. i will filing a complaint with the BBB, I will kep all of you NCO haters ))))) updated.

            Call me childish...

but I just can't see myself paying on a debt that old to people that rude regardless of the amount. They can go f*ck themselves as far as I am concerned! You are a much better person than I.

That could be considered "Third Party Disclosure" and you should consider bringing it to the attention of the Attorney General. I had an agency call my parents and tell them that since I was behind on my payments that it could ruin their credit too. I wish I had tried to sue them for that.

                  I've dealt with NCO before...

they were extremely rude and started screaming at me that I needed to pay my bills. I could hear others sceaming at people in the background. I finally hung up and I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office just to be told that they (NCO) did nothing wrong. They were rude but that was the extent of it. The man from the AG's office told me to write them a letter telling them what I was able to pay and if they didn't want to accept it to just go ahead and sue me. I finally just quit answering the phone...I was so sick of being dehumanized.

I've also had a collection agency call my friend's house and tell my friend's daughter that either I or my lawyer needed to contact them immediately.
That really ticked me off!! I called them and told them that they had better NEVER call my friend again and gave them a few other pieces of my mind. The guy was like "Would you talk to your mother this way?" I said "You're not my mother!" He told me I needed to learn proper phone etiquette and hung up on me. But...he didn't call my friend's house again!

I'll be so glad when I have some closure with this mess!!

you just need to be nasty back at them.
After declaring chapter 7 I called them and wasted their time just for the hell of it. I said I would ask my father to pay for the bills I owed them but I wanted to talk to the manager...etcetc...just laughed my ass off...;)

Yeah wonderful NCO. I have a medical account with them due to an accident....I asked them to please notify State Farm about the debt so they would cut me out a check for them as well. Take a guess at what they didn't do? Yup, so State Farm cut me out a check minus them. They do call a couple times a day sometimes three.
