Under Ohio Law, what is the statute of limitations (years?) in which a debt can be deleted from your credit report? How many years thereafter, when a debt (credit card or store accounts) is incurred can a debt collector press for repayment?

I *think* the SOL starts from date of last payment. Accounts tend to come off of your credit reports 7 years after the date of last activity. (Which doesn't really apply to SOL. It is possible for accounts to be on your credit after SOL has expired.)
One thing to be careful of, though, is making a payment on a very old account-if you were to make a payment on an account beyond the SOL, I think that would be sufficient to re-age the account. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
