Hi,
Well we're 30 days from the end of the 341, the stay was lifted on the house about 2 weeks ago. I went so far as to sign up on the sites that list pre-foreclosure properties and we are not there. I've received no certified letters or anything like that from the mortgage company. Prior to filing in September I don't believe I'd even gotten a notice of default but it's possible it is in the pile.
I'm in MA as I mentioned earlier. Where do I go to see if anything has been started? I presume the county courthouse I live in, but what specifically am I looking for there?
We are ironically moving very nearby and have an open ended move in date. Friends of ours moved south and tried to sell their home here and could not. We explained our situation and offered to move in for a few yars. They are thrilled, we are happy and we're coming out of it paying about $400 a month less than our first mortgage for a nicer home! We were going to jump and move in before Christmas for sentimental reasons but financially we don't want to be stupid. If we've got another 3 months of rent free living or more, we should take advantage of it and put that money away. Pride is one thing, stupidity is another !
Question is where do we go at the country courthouse and what are we asking for?
