When Do They Put a Foreclosure Notice on my Door?

Just wondering at what point in the process of foreclosure does this happen? 1 month before the sale? And who does this? A sheriff?


Also I have been told I can take it down immed.... (it would be embarrassing to have a foreclosure notice on my front door for everyone to see.

It depends on the state as to when they put the notice on the door (assuming that is required in the first place), but usually it is early on in the process.

But no matter where you live, you can take it down whenever you like. The purpose of the notice is to put the occupant on notice of the foreclosure
