Will post ofc forward certified letter?

That probably sounds like a stupid ? since you need to sign for a certified letter, but I was wondering if they would forward it to your new address if you've submitted a change of address form with the US post office, or at the very least, if they wouldn't attempt to deliver it to the OLD address. I ask this because I was very embarrassed recently to hear from the people who now live in the house we rented 2 + years ago before moving into our new (and now, foreclosing, house)--they had received a bazillion copies of our NOD as well as the certified letter notice. I immediately put in another change of addr form--the old one had long expired obviously--and had hopes that will prevent them from receiving the next set of crapola letters that will come...

Hi Martha: the Postmaster's Daughter is here.

If the forwarding order is current, all first class mail--including the certified mail--SHOULD be sent to the new address. Second-class and bulk rate will not. Forwarding orders generally expire after 6 months, so since you renewed it, anything coming in now should be covered.

I will call my P. O. tomorrow and double check and post my findings.

I think - please note the word think - that if you completed a change of address form at the post office the post office would have to forward it to your new address.

Thanks Guys!! I was assuming/hoping that would be the case, but ya never know. I just seriously don't want to hear from those people at our old address again, even though they are being nice to notify us!

Hey AngelinaCatHub---you've hit upon my favorite pastime of late, looking up people I know in foreclosure lists and county recorder records!! Sick, yes I admit, and do I do anything with the knowledge other than feel better? Nope!!! One of my favs was a family I am familiar w/thru the kids' school..had always felt a bit of the green envy, though they are nice. But, they appeared to be living the dream--the million $$ + home, the nice, sporty car, the big SUV, the fabulous kid parties..yada yada. I didn't begrudge them a thing, but admit I felt a bit of a twinge of relief when I accidentally stumbled across their name on the foreclosure list for the mill $$ house (previously I'd been told they'd bought in our now old $600k neighborhood--where we are currently foreclosing--because it was "such a great deal that they couldn't pass up"--which at the time had made me feel like s**t.........) Anyhoo, yes, I am sure the people who rent now where we used to rent would totally get it, as they had told me 2 yrs ago when they first moved in and were kind enough to save any slip-thru mail for us that they had "sold" their house, and were renting now because it was too expensive to own in CA unless they both worked......so they are probably on the big F/C list as well
