    I started the process

My first is with Wachovia. Very nice but won't do anything until I get an actual discharge.

Second is with Wells Fargo. I have heard all the horror stories so I started early.

    Called them today.
They asked for a hardship letter.
Reminded them that I had sent it June 29, 09.
    They found it.
Asked me for a letter from my attorney authorizing them to speak to me.
Reminded them that I had faxed it to them July 2, 09
    They never got it.

    Sound familiar to anyone?

Asked me to refax everything and they would review it .

They also asked me to state " what I wanted'.

I thought "Hell, I want complete forgiveness and a letter telling me I paid it in full without a late payment"

What do you mean " What do I want" I asked. I would like to know what types of programs you have but they said I need to send in all the stuff first.

OK, now I gotta start studying all this so I know what my options are before I go to war.

BTW, I am 5 months behind, the house is probably breaking even at this point, maybe a little under so I am not out to do anything other than to see what my options are. I am keeping the house and did not reafirm although they pushed the issue a bit.

Can anyone shed any light on dealing with WF and what options they actually have offerred in negotiations?

    Thanks.

In addition to checking this site, also check out loansafe.org for specific offers to and from each of the various servicers.

Wells Fargo is famous for losing docs! I'm sure you are keeping a log of the conversations too.

Hey, LaJazz: This is not quite like you. What are you wishing for??? More credit? What? As one of my 'friends' buddy, I have been watching your progress. You should be nearing end soon.

Please make it simpler for simple people like me. 'Hub

Definitely NO MORE CREDIT for me. I just know that I need to deal with this issue of the HELOC sooner rather than later so I need to know what my options with WF are.

I also need to modify the first to get some breathing room.

My plan with credit is to have ONE CC for emergencies and buy a decent car, maybe a $10,000 one.

Save, save, save and NEVER get into this trap again.
