    creditor addresses?

We are trying to finish up our paperwork so we can file next week, and I'm having the most horrible time locating addresses for our creditors. My credit report lists one address, the statements list two or three, and the websites list even more. Does it matter which address I use? I definitely don't want to use the wrong one and have to spend time changing them, but no one seems to know which one to use. HELP!

I know with the Electronic Filing System that attnys use, that was an update that came with the New Law. Creditors could input a preferred mailing address for notice of BK.

Our attny used the addresses that were available thru the Electronic Filing System AND any and every address we gave him. He put down addresses off our statements, any letters of collections, any other different return addresses on mailings we received. You name it. Those addresses were on the list.

The paralegal told us he was just very thorough that way. He didn't want to chance a Creditor saying, "We weren't notified." My guess is at some point in his career of filing BK's, our attny had a Creditor use that excuse to Object or cause some other sort of trouble. So now he errs on the side of caution and notifies a Creditor at any and every address he has at his disposal.

If you're filing Pro Se, I'd suggest you list every address you have from every source you have for each and every Creditor. Better for the Creditors to get several letters at various locations than not get a letter at the right location.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

You need to call them to get a proper mailing address...

Yes I had the same problem your having.I used the address on the outside of the bill envelope but there are two or three more addresses on the inside.
All creditors have an address to send legal correspondence (bankruptcy notices) and it's best to call the creditor and ask what that address is to send a Notice of Bankruptcy. It'll save you alot of headaches in the end. Some of the addresses you need to use are not even on your bill statement or on the envelope.
      Good Luck.

Thanks so much for the responses. For now, I'm just making a list of every address I find and what it's supposed to be for (mailing payments, mailing correspondence, etc.), and hopefully my attorney will know which one is best.
