    Using Credit?????

Okay, bear with me on this one. I think you all know the standings of our BK. Last day for objections is in just a few weeks. So, here is my question. My daughter and I are in DESPERATE need of some ladies clothing items (you ladies will understand ) I still have an active Lane Bryant account in good standing....what is the precedent, law, or whatever on using this account to purchase a few items prior to discharge? Is this a total no no, or what is the concensus. These items we need are quite expensive and using our cash (what little there is these days) would really be tough right now.

Thanks in advance for you help!

Well, I'm a lady, and I *don't* understand. There are many times I've *wanted* to buy new, expensive clothes, but I didn't because I didn't have the money. Why do you *need* these expensive clothes right now? Putting them on credit right out of bankruptcy sounds like a really bad idea.

Well, I didn't want to go in to "personal" details, but this is not a frivilous purchase I am talking about, but necessary undergarments. And before you suggest I run to the nearest Walmart and buy them for $10 my daughter and I are plus size women and LB is the only place we can get these items. This isn't and "I want" situation but an "I need." Believe me putting anything on credit right now is not something I truly want to do, but even buying just 2 each of these items we are talking about about $100+ and I just don't have it right now. Sorry to get a little personal, but I think you got the wrong idea about what/why I was asking this question.

Technically, Connie, you aren't supposed to incur any new debt while in an active BK.

BUT, if you shop "carefully" so you can pay your bill in full when the statement comes, then you really haven't incurred new debt, have you??!!

I did that with Store acct cards pre BK. Shop, swipe, and pay in full when the bill came. Use them every now and then just to keep the accts active. You never know when you might need nice clothes on a moment's notice for a funeral or some such thing as that.

And, PS,........... I knew where you were going and what you meant when you said Lane Bryant. Not everyone is a skinny ass!

Thank you SF, that is what I was talking about. I truly DO NOT want to use the cc, but I can't see any other way to get these items, and I am not kidding when I tell you the currents items are literally falling apart :P(

If I do decide to order you can be sure I will pay it off when the statement comes, last thing I want to do is throw ay kind of a monkey wrench into the works.

          Thanks

If you cant pay cash for it now how do you plan to fully pay it off when the bill comes? Not trying to be rude but just a question.

Not rude at all..............this account actually offers 90 days deferred on all purchases, by the time these are actually charged to my account I will have the money saved up to pay it off.

Ohh ok, I was just curious. If I were you though I would avoid charging at all costs. I mean is it really worth jeopordizing your case for a couple of purchases? Maybe just wait till you have the money and pay cash.

Thanks for you concern/advice NissanMan, we actually have decided to wait a little while before ordering. No sense in messing anything up at this late stage.
