    Sweet Deal for 4Runner!

I didn't have to go to court!

My trustee had a very important doctor's appointment which I think saved my a**!!!

It came down to this: Email between my attorney & me!!! I had yesterday off as a personal day so I took it off anyhow!!!!

Trustee wanted $3,200 and I get the 4Runner. However, I had never received my 2/12 of my 2005 Tax return from the attorney...I had originally hoped that the 2005 IRS Return $ would have to go to the IRS...I have no idea where it got dispersed to, BUT!!!!

I was due back $720 on my tax refund and $825 on my personal property exemption.....so.....

the deal was made that I have to pay the trustee $1,456.80 in thirty days and I get to keep the 4Runner...

See, Carmax had never said anything about the $2K repair bill for the catalytic converters either.....so maybe the trustee took that into account regarding possible auction value of the truck?

So, I am pretty darn happy!!!! I did receive bonus $ for Xmas so I will have that amount by next month at this time.

Now, I think the best thing to do is trade the 4Runner next week, when while people are trying to get rid of car inventory.

Kelly Blue Book value on a "fair" condition trade of the 4Runner is $7,900.

    Thoughts?

That sounds like a pretty good deal for you.

Although, I was hankering to see what would happen in court?

As for trading it in, I suppose now is as good a time as any. Plus, since its near the end of the month, they will be looking to make some deals. However, if you are not discharged, you cannot buy on credit, and I doubt you will get offered anywhere near $7,900 for the car. Also, dealers don't like to do staight trades...they will want some cash or to finance you (which you can't do).

I am discharged. As far as trading, I have no problem to finance what the remaing $$ due would be...I'm interested in Toyota Celica's, maybe the highlander, an old Starion (Mitsubishi, very hard to find), I want some gas mileage!!!!

My discharge was back in Jan!!!

          OH MY GOD!!!!! YES!!!!

And, I have the money to pay the trustee....

I have to use my weekend wisely, go on autotrader.com and look up some cars in my area!

I'm really wondering what the dealer's will do for me w/trade in? Like Mitsubishi (maybe a newer eclipse), or Toyota (Celica...Highlander) or on one of those infamous little Florida car auto sales places?

What a nice Christmas present, Amis - your 4Runner free and clear at last! Enjoy looking for your new wheels - be sure and check Edmunds.com for good estimates of real value when you find a used one you like. Can hardly wait to hear what you decide on - good luck and have fun searching!

I was kinda looking forward to Discharge so we could see about getting a newer vehicle. I've been kinda stranded since we sold our's back in the spring to pay our income taxes.

After looking at payments, I don't think I'll be getting a newer car anytime soon. I've decided to look at older, "beater" types. Just something reliable to get me around town.

I wish I could go shopping with you Amis. I bet it would be fun to drive in some new rides. Breathe that new car smell.

                THank you guys!!!

Don't forget, I still have to pay the trustee $1,500.....but yes, I have the 4Runner to trade...

Now, I could put an ad in the newspaper for private, but with the stuff wrong with it, I thought trading it in might be better?

                Thoughts???

                I found two celica's nearby...2003 for14K with 46,000 miles and a 2004 for $15K with 30,000 miles....???I'll look them up in edmunds....

Gosh, I just want to do this car trade right....I am scared about giving up the 4Runner, it's like the only car I've driven since I got divorced seven years ago....It's like giving up my baby blanket...

                    THANK YOU!

I'm going to also take a look at a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, white w/23K miles for $12K....if I could get $7k for my truck that would give me a 5K note...maybe $150/month????

Thank you, it just freaks me out....and then my boyfriend will want to drive it and then I'll freak out...

So, I think after I pay the trustee the $1,500.00 then they will close my case?
