    authorised user?

    i am authorised user on a family members card. if i file for bankruptcy will it effect their credit? how will that work?

    also one of m credit cards is co-signed, i assumer this means the will go after the co-signer?

    If you are only an authorized user, it won't impact the card owner if you file. However, just to be on the safe side and to avoid any chance of a mistake by the credit card or the credit agencies, ask your lawyer if it's ok if the card owner removes you as an authorized user before you file and if there's any time frame restrictions involved.

    Yes, the creditor will expect your co-signer to pay whatever is on the card when you file. That was the agreement when you and your co-signer each signed on the dotted line. Is this going to cause you a lot of grief with someone in your family or a friend?
