      Steps I took? LOL...get a book, read it (Nolo). Hang out here and listen to people that have <actually> done a Pro Se filing. Search the "stickys" that are all over the place and <just do it>. Google the court you will be filing in and go to their FAQ's for Pro Se filers.

      Once you have a <specific> question that can actually be answered, post it and evaluate the responses you get. It can be done Pro Se but a LOT depends on how good your attorney is!

        You don't need money to start the process (well, ok, maybe 75 bucks or so) you will get four months to pay the filing fee so don't let $$$$ stop you. BTW, once you complete the Pro Se process you will probably know more about BK than most attorneys do...
