My roomate who i will honestly disclose pays me 300 a month rent...and thats all for household expenses....he buys his own food...and all....I pay all the utilities, and he does the upkeep on the lawns in exchange for cable box into his room. After i told him i was considering bk....that if any of his items furniture ...and electronics get taken away..he would sue me......also do trustees do a search for storage units...as i rent a storage unit to store my some of my and my parents items.....we split the cost, since i keep some large pa speakers just bulky but no valuable...i want to transfer the storage lease into soley in their name...but if i do it might look like im transferring assets which i am not....yet if i keep it in my name...and they take my parents stuff....my parents who are already mad at me...it will be worse....any advice

trustees coming to your house/storage unit?

Trustee's almost NEVER come to a persons house to inspect their personal property. They may sometimes want to check a storage unit, but again almost never. Reason being, pretty much all personal property is exempt.
The only time I have seen a trustee send someone to a house is in the event they were a business owner, the business failed, the debtor has business assets stored at their house or storage unit (business assets would not be exempt).
You don't have anything to worry about.

Hey pal I live in my parents trailer in NC. (They live in GA). They and my brother own the furniture and appliances (he lived in it before me). They haven't questioned me at all about the stuff, nor has anyone come to visit. I think you'll be okay and your roommate has nothing really to worry about.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
