Online Credit Accounts

I had an online credit account with Bill-Me-Later. I used my good credit at the time to open it and buy things which I could get billed later for. Since the bankruptcy, I had a balance of 211.00 dollars left on the account to pay. The lawyer told me that I must include all credit accounts, cards and loans, so they were included. I just received an automated bill 9-1-07 in my e-mail account for my monthly payment. I was just about to mail them another copy of the bankruptcy, when I stopped and checked with you guys on what I should do about that. Am I doing the right thing sending them another copy, not sure what happen to the first copy sent out Aug-17-07, but I have it ready to mail unless you guys think there is something else I should do.

Since you filed about a month ago and this is an automated payment request, your bk filing may not have reached the billing part of the company yet. Our lawyer told us to send him any bills that arrive 30-45 days after filing so he could pursue them for violating the stay.

If you get another bill or get a collection call from them when you don't pay this one, then hit them with the official registered return receipt letter stating you filed bk, give your case number, and tellm them they are violating the automatic stay and you will pursue legal action accordingly unless they cease and desist all billing attempts immediately. If you really don't want to wait another month, then you can go ahead and send that same registered return receipt letter now.

You might be able to clear it up with a phone call (although I would still follow with a letter to be sure). I just got a bill yesterday from one of my credit cards. I called them and they said they had never received the notice but they took down all my info and apologized for sending me the bill. I was surprised they were so nice! I also asked for the correct address to send the notice to and I plan to get that out to them on Tuesday.
